10.14.12 : TOPS & 10.17.12 : SLOWDANCE
In celebration of 25 years on Earth, we are elated to announce two events for October of 2012 in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
On Sunday October 14th we will be hosting TOPS (from Montreal) along with opening acts PETAL & MOCK SUN. TOPS released their debut full-length “Tender Opposites” earlier this year via Arbutus Records (Grimes, Doldrums, etc.) and continue to rack up praise from the likes of Pitchfork, The Guardian & Gorilla vs. Bear. Close friend and label-mate Claire Boucher (aka Grimes) has described TOPS as “a bunch of weirdos in the most affectionate way possible.” The event will take place at The Crimson Lion in downtown Wilkes-Barre with doors opening at 7 PM and a $5 suggested donation.

On Wednesday October 17th we will be hosting SLOWDANCE (from Brooklyn) along with opening acts WE CAN’T ENJOY OURSELVES & BRIAN TV. So far in 2012 Slowdance has released a track on the Kitsuné Records Parisien II compilation, a 7″ thru White Iris Records (Best Coast, Fidlar, Other Lives, etc.) and two music videos (‘Spell’ via Children’s Museum of the Arts & ‘Boyfriend’). The band will be hitting the West Coast this Fall for a string of dates alongside The Helio Sequence (Sub Pop) and on their way home will be making a stop at The River Street Jazz Cafe in Wilkes-Barre.
